重森三玲庭園美術館

お庭は大海をイメージして作成され、建物の周りに敷かれているうねりのような形の敷石(丹波鞍馬石)は波、そして苔の部分は島々を表現、その中に配置されている大きな石は徳島から取り寄せた青石(緑色片岩)を使用されています。
重森三玲氏は東福寺塔頭の光明院の「波心の庭」も手掛けられています。

Shigemori Mirei Garden Museum
Shigemori Mirei was a Showa-period landscape architect and scholar of Japanese garden history.
The residence was formerly the Yoshida Shrine’s shrine family home; its single-story wooden study hall is a nationally registered cultural property.

The garden was created to evoke the image of the great ocean.
The undulating paving stones (Tamba Kurama stone) laid around the building represent waves.
The moss-covered areas express islands, and the large stones placed within them are green schist (green-colored schist) brought from Tokushima.
He also designed the “Wave Heart Garden” at Komyo-in, a sub-temple of Tofuku-ji.
