絵師 だるま商店「百福を贈る ~お日柄展」と「うちわ会」
花街の文化に息づく「お日柄」は舞妓さんがデビューするお店出しや芸妓さんへの襟替えの際に、お茶屋さんに飾られます。
歴史的には中国の般の時代、日本では天平時代に始まる贈答をする時の「記し」としての「目録」まで遡れる東洋の文化の一つと歴史はかなり古くからあります。
だるま商店のお二人は伝統的な部分を守りつつも、「贈答」という文化のルーツに立ち返り、ルールのない所から発展してきたこの文化を再構築されています。
今回はその一部ですが、実際の出来事のストーリーを描いて展示していただきました。

このイベントでは飾る仕様の美しい団扇にお客様のお好みの福々しい絵を描き上げてお渡ししました。皆様大変喜ばれていました。
Sending Good Fortune ~ O-Higara Exhibition by Daruma Shoten(Artist)
“O-Higara,” which breathes life into the culture of
the flower district. It is displayed in tea houses during the debut of maiko
(apprentice geisha) and the collar changing of geiko (geisha).
While preserving traditional aspects, They are
returning to the roots of the culture of “gift-giving” and reconstructing this culture that has developed from a place without rules. This time, They will beexhibiting a part of it.

We were delighted to host the highly popular “Eshi Daruma Shoten Uchiwa Gathering.”
In this special event, the artist will create a personalized and auspicious illustration of your choice on a beautifully crafted traditional uchiwa (Japanese hand fan).
