日本最古の劇場 南座

国の登録有形文化財、ならびに京都市の歴史的意匠建造物にも指定されています。
歌舞伎発祥の地として知られる南座は、その長い歴史の中で数多くの名優や名舞台を生み出してきました。

現在も毎年師走に行われる「吉例顔見世興行」など、京都の季節行事として多くの方に親しまれています。

Minamiza, located on the eastern side of Shijo Ohashi Bridge, is Japan’s oldest kabuki theater, with a history dating back to 1603. It is designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan as well as a Historic Designated Building of Kyoto City.
Known as the birthplace of kabuki, Minamiza has produced countless renowned actors and memorable performances throughout its long history. Even today, traditional events such as the annual Kaomise performances held each December remain an integral part of Kyoto’s seasonal culture and are cherished by many.
Preserving its rich tradition and dignified atmosphere, Minamiza continues to captivate visitors as one of the enduring symbols of Kyoto’s cultural heritage.
